Window shopping
Pastime consisting in licking the windows i.e. walking and looking at the fronts of stores, shops.
Contrary to shopping, the term does not have a practical connotation. Indeed, there is no act of immediate purchase when window shopping are made. It is more actually a question of contemplating, of discovering, of locating or of comparing various products and articles with a simple ludic aim or a point of view of longer-term purchase.
