Label Champagne
To read a label, better is worth to know. The Champagne has its own vocabulary: here small ten words to be known.
White of White: vintage, in general extremely delicate, elaborate with only one type of vine, the chardonnay. White of blacks: black type of vine vintage Gross: very dry. Dry half: soft, whereas "Dry" means: dry half... Great vintage: wine of the one - or of several - of the 17 classified as communes "great vintage". Champagne resulting from classified vineyards 90 to 99%. Large mark: house forming part of the Institute of the large marks, founded in 1882. First vintage: champagne resulting from classified vineyards 90 to 99%. Rosy: champagne to which one added 10 to quiet champagne 15%, red. The amateur who wants to further go, to include/understand the codes indicated, generally in small characters, on the label, will meet the following abbreviations: CM: co-operative of handling, in light, wine coming from a co-operative. MA: mark of purchaser. ND: trader-distributor. Nm: trader-handling, pertaining to the Institute of the large Champagne marks or to the institute of the wine merchants of champagne. R: collecting, selling its grapes with a co-operative RC: collecting handling co-operator RM: collecting handling, champagne vinified and marketed by a vine grower, with or without the assistance of a co-operative. SR: company of collecting, meeting of vine growers.
