Definition

Gastro-enteritis is an infectious disease being characterized by nauseas, vomiting and/or diarrhoea.

Description

Gastro-enteritis commonly called intestinal influenza is in the majority of the cases of viral origin. It is a minor illness which however can become frightening when it touches the infants or the old people for whom the risks of dehydration are important and consequent. Gastro-enteritis is characterized by sudden a fulgurance digestive disorders: diarrhoeas, vomiting, evils of belly, fevers, feelings of heat and cold, shivers, sweats. It is most of the time of viral origin (virus of the family of the rotavirus most frequently) but can also be bacterial (food poisoning, contaminated water). The medicamentous treatment will consist of the catch thediarrheal ones which will slow down the transit, with the reconstitution of the intestinal flora and of antiemetics in the event of vomiting. A diet containing rice and of carrots will accélèrera the return to a normal transit
