 Canoe

Definition

The canoe is a small boat, in one or more places, propelled with a simple paddle.

Description

The canoe is of Canadian origin, even if its principle is found in many countries (dugout). The canoe is practised as well out of calm water out of running water. It is a sport practised in leisure by million people, but also a discipline of competition. Three specialities are practised in competition: - the race on line (Olympic since 1932), discipline pure speed, which is practised out of plain water. - slalom (Olympic since 1992) consisting in carrying out a course materialized by doors, being practised out of waters running. - the descent disciplines speed out of waters running. The canoe should not be confused with the Kayak of which he is cousin, but who is practised using a double paddle. The casino was in the beginning a card deck named Scopa played by 2 or 4 people. This play which would have begun in Italy was rather complex, but the fact of playing has more than 2 players reduced this complexity while limiting the various possibilities of strategies.
